Social Action

Our inquiry topic last term was Zero Waste. Once we finished, we decided that one way we could take action would be to hold a Nude Food Day at Wanaka Primary School. This was held on Thursday, 2 June 2011.
“What is Nude Food?”
Nude Food is bringing a lunch along to school in your lunch box, completely wrapper free.
Why hold Nude Food Day?
This was to encourage less waste in our school environment and hopefully this will also encourage people to begin to use less waste at home as well.
This is a great way to celebrate us all taking responsibility for the health of our planet.
Rooms 2 and 23 both had the least number of wrappers (four in total for each class) and they won a fresh fruit platter each to share among their class. The fresh fruit was donated by Mediterranean Wholesale Market, Wanaka to whom we would like to say thank you very much.
